Psychometrist (Special Education Services Department) Catholic Education Centre

There are two (2) full-time positions available with duties effective immediately

SALARY: $49,644 to $76,490 per annum as per the APSSP Collective Agreement

The Board agrees to pay Psychometrists who hold a Psychological Associates designation an additional responsibility allowance of $1,545.00 per annum.

CORE FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Superintendent, Special Education Services, the Psychometrist provides a comprehensive consultation service to Board Staff, students and parents, as well as professionals outside the Board. At the request of parents/guardians, the Psychometrist conducts individual psycho-educational assessments of students whom are experiencing difficulty functioning within the school setting. Under clinical supervision of a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the Psychometrist investigates possible learning and/or social-emotional disorders and suggestions for intervention strategies for pupils with special needs and must be available for after-hours consultation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Masters degree in Psychology (or other relevant field) Minimum of two (2) years recent work experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
• Excellent writing skills, preferably with experience writing and editing psychological assessment reports.
• Excellent interpretive skill and analysis; computer literacy.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

These positions are covered by the A.P.S.S.P. Collective Agreement.
